Some Notes On The Meeple
The Urban Dictionary defines it as;
"A generic term for little wooden figures used in German board gaming." This is not a bad description but you
will find that the more fanatical among the board gaming community will take the definition a little further.
Indeed the piece should be wood, be of a living thing and look like it was cut out by a cookie cutter. This
means the little wooden houses in the old style games of monopoly are not Meeples.

Klaus is the man who started the the whole Euro games thing in the USA. Settlers of Catan was selling millions in Europe, so he sold the rights to a US company and the whole thing snowballed.
Herr Knizia is probaly Germany's most prolific designer. A mathematics PhD, he gave up a job as a financial analyst with a German bank as his games proved more lucrative and enjoyable.
